This
Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship was launched in December,
2002. At the first stage, it is expected to have 6-8
fellows a year.
This fellowship program includes a four-week full duty of clinical and academic
attachment in the Trauma Team of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology
in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Objectives
The
objectives of this Program are:
To facilitate training of
young orthopaedic surgeons by providing clinical attachment
in centres of excellence
To provide exposure
to different clinical practice with special reference
to orthopaedic trauma
To provide exposure
to different health care systems in general
To provide practice
on fracture treatment through program in the OLC
To enhance fraternity
among centres in Orthopaedics and Traumatology

closed supervision by surgeon in specialist level

daily program
On-call duty every

Outpatient clinics attendance
Accident and Emergency department
attachment
Participation in surgery
Protected study time in library
and OLC
Bioskill
course in fracture fixation in OLC

Admission Requirements
Applicants
should have not less than 5 years clinical experience
in
Orthopaedic trauma
Reasonable English level
Enthusiastic and self motivated
Recommended by parent unit
head
Interview may be needed
