By using telemedicine facilities, we can provide real-time conference for our surgeons and their counterparts in other hospitals. Clinical pictures and X-ray images can be sent directly to the centre, so interactive discussions can be carried out. The facilities also allow us to broadcast the education programme real-time to other hospitals around the world through video-conferencing setup along the digital superhighway.
Live surgery in the operating theatres situated adjacent to the Centre and in the main hospital compound can be relayed directly to the Seminar Room and the Bioskill Laboratory through the optic-fibre network. A two-way communication is made possible by the video-conferencing setup. With the newly installed LED variable colour spectrum lighting system, the images will be further enhanced for specific effects.
The newly installed Computer Assisted Orthopaedics Laboratory is made available to all orthopaedic surgeons and trainees for training and practice through a simple booking system.
