1. Introduction
Navigation system is an innovative system which aims to make minimal invasive, more accurate, easier and more cost effective in surgeries. It is widely used in neuro surgeries, and only applied in trauma surgeries in past 3 years. The trauma navigation system can helps orthopaedic surgeons to assess placement of the bone screws optimally, reduce overall irradiation rate and the operation time which will ultimately beneficial to the patients. Currently, there is no permanent navigation workstation setup for learning purpose in Hong Kong as well as in Asia Pacific countries. To utilize the resources and experiences from our department on using this innovative system, our centre has set up a navigation system for stimulation practice in proximal femur and pelvis for local and international orthopaedic surgeons.
